I have spent this morning capturing images from my craft/sewing projects that I have been 'collecting' for some time.
As it is about time I get things done, I will blog the progression of these projects.
In the same order they appear on the
list, I have included an image of the state of play (SOP) for each craft/sewing project.
* Christmas Stockings (for me & hubby)
I picked up this amazing book of cross stitch designs by Donna Kooler at a local charity shop (which happens to be my favourite way of getting my books). My initial idea for the stockings was to do a complete piece of cross stitch, however just spending the time I have thus far on the nativity one, which will feature below, I am thinking this might be a tall order. My previous thoughts have included an collage type theme, using tweed, a favourite material for both Craig and I. Although more recently I have considered using tapestry wool for cross stitch, allowing a larger scale, and hopefully quicker completion. I will keep pondering these ideas, and looking for more ideas, which you can view through my pinterest.
* Nativity cross stitch
This cross stitch my first large scale (e.g. not those mini's you buy from hobby craft for cards). I am so excited about this project. I have recently enjoyed moving this project to the stage you here, from just the crib.
* Wedding scrapbook
I have a whole bundle of things to use our wedding scrapbook, and although we married in July 2011, I am yet to collate these items into a cohesive scrapbook. This will be my first scrapbook, and potentially my last, for reasons you will see below.
* Mini books
This idea, I have seen on
Elise's website. Elise's blog and shop I found only this week. I plan on getting to work on a mini book in the near future. I love this idea, as it encompasses the notion of scrap booking, photographs, comments, ticket stubs and other memories from holidays, in smaller a smaller and more unique fashion.
* Tiling of bistro table
This table is actually stored at my parents garden, along with theirs which is also in need of tiling. My Mum and I got these a couple of years ago, however, still haven't brought this project to a finish.
* Wedding bunting for Sam and Jess' wedding
As you can see I have the pattern and a cross stitch book (again local charity shop) for the embroidary which they suggested they'd like. I am yet to confirm the measurements of area this is to cover, and the colour scheme. The wedding is in October, and I am really excited to be able to make such a personal gift for them.
* Finley's birthday cushion
Again, another project which is very much in the idea stages. Finley is the son of two great friends of ours, so I am excited to make something personal for his first birthday in August.
* Christmas bunting
Here is my ongoing, delayed project by about 3 years. Awful to say. Still, a fact! I got this idea from a great book I have called The Christmas Book by Sheherazade Goldsmith. Instead of using felt as the book does, I have used our favourite material, tweed. I have recently taken this project to new levels by finishing the rest of the pattern cutting for the final pieces.
* Wedding framed wall
We intend, as we had in a previous apartment, using black and white images from our family and close friends weddings to create a wall of framed wedding images. These project is only awaiting 2 final images to be printed and the frames to be found/bought.
* Modify the necklace
I was shopping with my Mum recently at a craft and antique show in the local town and picked this necklace up, I am not such a fan of the crochet beads shown here, and plan on exchanging them for alternative beads.
* Nativity plaster of paris
Very excited to have received this in the post today. I purchased it this week from eBay. I have not been able to find a plain (white) nativity for our home that I have liked, so I figured I would embark on this venture personally. See if I can achieve what I am looking for.
* Footsteps cross stitch
Craig and I love this poem. I picked this up on a visit to America in Michaels. I love that store! Our best friend's live in America, and so I get plenty of reasons to visit as much as possible.
This poem is special as Craig's Nana had once done an embroidery of it, and so Craig is really keen to have one in our home too.
Here it is, my blog and list of projects as they stand today. I have no doubt that I will gather more ideas still, as everyday I seem to see/plan more, so the list of to do, as usual will continue to grow. However, it is my hope that I will start to complete some of the projects to move on with the newer ones.
Have a great weekend.
